This update resolves the “Invalid DNS” error in Google Sites by enabling proxying and adding a valid CNAME record pointing www.dwin.is-a.dev to ghs.googlehosted.com. It retains the existing TXT record for Google site verification. With "proxied": true, the configuration now passes DNS validation and supports custom domain routing to the Google Site.
This update adds a CNAME record to correctly route the subdomain www.dwin.is-a.dev to Google Sites via ghs.googlehosted.com. The TXT record for Google site verification was already present, confirming domain ownership. By including the CNAME, this change resolves the “Invalid DNS” error encountered during custom domain setup in Google Sites.
This pull request updates the dwin.json file to include a TXT record for verifying the dwin.is-a.dev subdomain with Google Search Console.
The purpose of this change is to establish domain ownership for the site https://sites.google.com/view/dwinsolutions hosted on Google Sites. Verification through Google Search Console will enable access to indexing insights, performance analytics, and site health tools.
Initially, the configuration included a CNAME record pointing to ghs.googlehosted.com, but this caused a validation error due to is-a.dev’s restriction against combining CNAME with other record types unless proxying is enabled. To comply with platform requirements, the CNAME record was removed.
However, this led to a new error:
“Root subdomains must have at least one usable record.”
To resolve this, the configuration now includes a URL record pointing to the live site, which satisfies the requirement for a usable root-level DNS record. The final configuration includes both the URL and TXT records, ensuring compatibility with is-a.dev’s DNS rules and enabling successful verification with Google.
Thank you for reviewing this request and for maintaining such a helpful service for developers.
